Researcher and psychologist from Willamette University reveals the results of research involving groups of adolescents, individuals who have many friends in the group and outside the group recorded a higher average academic value. That’s because the friends at school tend to be oriented to the achievement and supporting activities which support these achievements. Researchers involved 629 students of class 12 are given questioner and required to report all such activity study time, play with classmates and friends outside of school.

“The existence of a friendship patterns is important to meet the social needs of teenagers and they do not always interfere with student achievement. Friendships formed outside the school, such as additional classes, also contribute to the achievement of a person,” says Witkow as quoted from HealthDay, Thursday (10 / 6). Even so, says Witkow, research results do not mean to say that friends from outside school does not profitable.
