Mozart Music Increases Premature Infants Weight
Mozart music instrument can decrease metabolism in premature infants so that can increase their weight. This was revealed by a team of researchers from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Israel.
So far, research on Mozart music is more focused to determine the impact on hearing and increased IQ (Intelligence Quotient). The team of researchers from Israel also wanted to know the effect of Mozart’s music for body weight and growth.
The study involved 20 premature infants. The babies are exposed to Mozart’s music and the result is potential to decreased metabolism and body weight increased significantly. Premature infants Metabolism decreased after listening to Mozart’s music for 30 minutes.
From the results of measurements, the research team found that metabolism of premature infants’ decreased average 13 percent after Mozart’s music was played for 10 to 30 minutes. It was an impact on increasing weight premature babies.
“This study supports the theory that music can help increase weight premature infants, although the team can not measure with certainty the baby to gain weight,” said Ronit Lubetzky, one of the researchers from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.
